About Me

Who Am I?

My name is Jon Cyprus and am currently enrolled in the M.Sc Chemical Engineering program at UC Davis.

My current interest includes learning or refining my knowledge in various subject matter such as mathematics, physics, and more. I enjoy being exposed to various ideas and subjects as it helps me grow into a better, more well-rounded person and scientist. (Check out my Projects to page to see what I'm up to!)

I enjoy writing about ideas and discussing them with others. There is so much knowledge outside of traditional coursework that is pertinent and important for everyday life. Talking and discussing these ideas are important to me as I believe it helps people find what they truly want out of life and how they can get it.

I also enjoy improving my physical health at the gym via weight lifting. Exercise has been an important part of my life recently and allows me to challenge myself in new, exciting ways. I am currently learning piano, to challenge myself, it has given me great joy to be able to connect with music in a way I could not have before.

Who Was I?

I was born in the small town of Agoura Hills where I grew up for 23 years. After highschool I was a student at the California State University of Northridge that transferred from Moorpark college in 2019 to study chemistry.

Who will I be?

I continue to strive to be a better person each day. I hope to be someone with a large amount of interdisciplinary knowledge that can apply it to the real world. I love the challenge of learning and everything you can do with that understanding. I also hope to be someone that can impart hope into others with my projects or views and show that often times the impossible, isn't so inconceivable. Sometimes all it takes is a little shift of perspective.

I also hope to be someone that will help others find their calling in life. Far too often life is muddied up with superfluous things, and people do not get to experience the things they always wanted to at the end of it. Helping others discover what they find fulfilling is something that I wish I can do someday on a more regular basis.
